What This Privacy Policy Covers

This policy covers how (“eCB”) treats information which personally identifies you (“personal information”) that eCB collects and receives. The personal information we collect may include your name, address, phone number, and/or e-mail address. Once you provide eCB with personal information, you are not anonymous to us.

There are several links from the eCB website to third party information and service providers who may collect personal information from you in order to provide you with information or services. eCB has no control over the privacy policy of any third party company, so please examine their privacy policy prior to submitting any personal information. Information Collection and General Use

When you research eCB contractor information, eCB does not collect any personal information from you. eCB does, however, collect some non-specific visitor information, such as ZIP Codes and data used to produce pricing reports, analyze the usage of the eCB website, and customize online advertising and promotional offers.

eCB collects personal information when you: request a contractor price quote, answer survey questions, register to use the My eCB account. We may also receive personal information from you, for example when you: respond to a research survey with a marketing research supplier or provide personal information with comments when you Contact Us.

When you visit eCB pages, we may collect certain information about your visit from your browser, including the Internet Protocol (IP) address through which you access the Internet, the date and time you access the eCB website, the pages that you access while at the eCB website and the Internet address of the website from which you linked directly to the eCB website, and eCB cookie information. eCB aggregates non-specific visitor information for statistical purposes. This information is used to help improve the eCB website, analyze trends, and administer the site.

When you elect to receive information from eCB, and/or from eCB’s partners (finance, insurance, etc.), eCB will use and/or share your personal information only as you have elected.

When you request a Contractor Price Quote your personal information (including your contact information) may be forwarded by eCB directly to the contractor or may be provided by eCB to a business partner that will forward your personal information to the contractor; your personal information may also be forwarded by eCB to a data analysis service provider, for the purpose of verifying customer purchase activity and reporting aggregate transaction data (excluding your personal information) to eCB, the contractor and/or a business partner.

Advertisements served by DoubleClick, a third party Internet advertising technology company, appear on pages throughout the eCB website. Some advertisements may request personal information directly from you or take you to websites that may request your personal information. eCB has no control over its advertisers’ privacy policies, so please examine the privacy policy of any company advertising on the eCB website prior to submitting any personal information. In addition, DoubleClick or AudienceScience may place or recognize a unique cookie on your browser and may use information about your visits to the eCB website and other websites in order to provide advertisements about goods and services of interest to you. Please be aware that when you provide personal information to eCB and authorize eCB to share the information with a third party, your personal information becomes the property of eCB and/or the third party. eCB and/or the third party may use your personal information to process your request and provide valuable services. eCB will only share your personal information with trusted third parties under a confidentiality agreement or similar arrangement that restricts the third party from sharing your personal information with others. If you do not want your information to be used for marketing by eCB and/or a third party, do not “opt in,” agree to such use, or simply “opt out,” as appropriate, when you provide your personal information through the eCB website. Please note that whenever you opt in to receive future communications from a third party, your information will be subject to the third party’s privacy policy. We respond to subpoenas, court orders, or legal process, or to establish or exercise our legal rights or defend against legal claims. We may also transfer personal information about you if eCB is acquired by or merged with another company.

eCB may display targeted advertisements based on your activity on the eCB website or based on personal information you have provided, but eCB does not provide your personal information to the advertiser in order to display the targeted ads. eCB and third-party advertising companies note some of the pages you visit through the use of pixel tags. eCB and third-party advertising companies (which may include network advertisers) may use information (not including your name, address email address or telephone number) about your visits to this and other websites in order to provide advertisements about goods and services of interest to you. eCB utilizes various third party service providers (including Omniture, AudienceScience, and Platform-A) to track and analyze non-personally identifiable aggregate usage information from visitors in order to continuously improve the quality of the eCB website. Cookies

eCB may set and access eCB cookies on your computer. A cookie is a small text file that is placed on your hard drive by a Web page server. eCB lets other companies, including business partners and companies that show advertisements on some of our pages, set and access their cookies on your computer. Web Beacons

eCB uses Web beacons (also known as clear gif technology, or action tags) to access eCB cookies inside and outside our website and to collect data and allow other companies to collect data. This technology is a tool we may also use to compile aggregated statistics about the eCB website usage, such as how many visitors clicked on key elements (such as links or graphics) on a page.
